Shenango Valley Special Games (SVSG) was seeking donations for metal nameplates as part of a competitive challenge for special needs children.
Shenango Valley Special Games is a non-profit organization that provides every Mercer County school-aged child with special needs the chance to compete with his or her peers, and undergo a myriad of exciting challenges.
Participants receive medals, lunch and a t-shirt for their participation, and the organization relies on donations from their local community.
Kayla Burt, Co-Director of the SVSG, reached out to Roemer Industries after finding out about us on social media. Burt was seeking a local company that could recreate the medals for the games that were used in previous years. Roemer was up to the task as a manufacturer of custom metal nameplates, labels and industrial tags since 1937.
The tags act as medals for the children, and attach to ribbons to award them for their participation. The games are held every spring in Sharon, Hermitage, Sharpsville and surrounding Mercer County schools.
Leveraging our expertise in screen-printing and custom fabrication, we created these round aluminum tags. The result was a clear display of the logo, and the precise laser cutting produced a perfectly sized hole for the ribbon.
Roemer donated 2500 long-lasting metal tags, supporting the organization’s games for the next 3-5 years.
“We are grateful for the chance to help out with this community, and we know the value that these tags will bring to the kids. We were excited to work on this project, and help out where we can!” said Alyssa Pawluk, Marketing Specialist at Roemer.
This year, the games were held on May 7th through the 9th and garnered around 250 special needs students. Swimming, bowling and soccer were just a few of the sports on the roster. For more details, learn more about this year’s games.
